1. How long and how many times a week is a typical session?

Sessions are 45-50 minutes. Most clients are seen once a week in the beginning. Then, as time goes on, they are seen less frequently. The number of sessions are dependent on your current need.

2. How long will I be in counseling?
The length of time a client is in counseling depends upon the nature of the problem and the goals set forth during counseling. Some clients have a very specific problem that can be worked through in a set course of counseling. For others, counseling is an on-going learning process and they choose to receive counseling for a longer period.

3. What if I want couples counseling, but my partner won't attend?

Unfortunately, sometimes one partner is not as willing as the other to attend counseling. However, I often find that it is possible to improve the relationship with just one person involved in counseling.

4. How much are your Fees and do you take insurance?

I accept Cash/Check/Credit Card as forms of payment for Private Pay clients. My fee for Individuals and Couples range from $120 to $140.00 per session. For Family Counseling please call to discuss your need as Family sessions will begin at 80 minute sessions.  I offer discounts for Private Pay Military individuals and their immediate family members.  I am currently accepting the following insurance plans: BlueCross/BlueSheild, HealthNet/MHN and Aetna. I can also work with your insurance if you have Out-of-Network benefits. Life Coaching sessions are Private Pay only and are $100.00 per 45 minute session.

5. Do I need to take medications?

As a Counselor and a Therapist, I strive to help each client find the power within themselves to make the changes they seek. However, based upon a joint assessment of problems you are facing, it may be advisable to consult with a Psychiatrist or your Primary Care Physician to determine whether medication is warranted. I have a close, working relationship with multiple Doctors and I would be happy to refer my clients to them should they require medication.
